The powerful tiger stalked back into his territory, his muscles rigid with anger that he could direct at no particular target.

His hunt had failed again.

He wasn't particularly surprised. The tremors that had shaken the mountain and the smoke and ash that scented the air had no doubt made parents cautious, causing them to draw their young ones close to them...which meant he had no opportunity to sample the tender young flesh he so craved. He had roamed in the puppy play area for several days after he had taken his pleasure from the female who chanced into his territory, trying to find some lost pup or cub to lure away from that area of safety....and had found nothing.

Well, nothing wasn't entirely true. He had managed to find a small nest of newborn rabbits, and so his belly was not completely empty. But still, they were a pale imitiation of the flesh he truly hungered for, and his belly gave a soft growl of irritation that it would need to wait again to have its appetite satisfied.

DeathWalker snarled as he slipped into one of the caves that dotted his territory, laying down in the dark shadows at the entrance. He would go out to prowl the darkness again soon...but for now, death rested.

Surprisingly, Deborah had given Frollo the idea to begin his conquest here.

The black wolf prowled intently, and his new dragon hatchling sat on his shoulders like an icon, her long neck curled like a proud swan.

"And how shall we handle this?" Frollo asked Deborah. "I don't want to waste my time talking with this brute."

"Then don't," Deborah snickered. She slipped her hair-thin tail under Frollo's chin. "This big cat doesn't need to know us."

Frollo grinned, showing all of his yellow teeth. "How wicked you are," she slurred lovingly. He lowered his head near a bush so that the hatchling could depart. "Hide here, I don't want anything to happen to you." When Deborah hid herself, Frollo continued his way towards DeathWalker's caves.

The smell of tiger was everywhere. Intentionally Frollo growled loudly to wake the beast and bring its attention over to him.
