Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip.
It had rained earlier, well that was more than obvious. The tall black wolf paced uneasily, paws sloshing through water. Angel did not make a straight line in the cave, but paced in an arch. Under the two inches of water that flooded the floor, a slightly larger arch was intricately carved into the stone. The brute's brilliant emerald eyes were fixed on a point in the water, just above one of the far ends of the chiseled arch. There, atop the restless water, danced a circle of sunlight. The ripples from his pacing paws disturbed the bright patch, sending a flurry of reflections along the wall. This was most unwelcome, though he couldn't help but pace. Each time a stray spectical of light touched his sleek fur, it burned... Not your usual reaction to sunlight.
Five more minutes of this and he'd be free. Angelus' ear twitched with each drop of water that sounded, a leak somewhere in the cave's roof other than the sun spot. Just five more minutes and the sun would be down behind the horizon. A small amount of smoke lifted itself from his coat, the skin beneath searing. What Angel hated most was knowing he was used to the feeling, used to being a monster. The thought made him snarl to himself, not very pleasant. He needed an escape, something to distract him for the next four minutes until he was free to go outside and escape this flooded mess of a cave.
A face swam into view, a pair of light blue eyes staring at him in his mind. The pacing brute growled to himelf, the white daimond of fur on his scruff raising involuntarily. That wasn't much better. This wolfess, this beautiful and very unforgettable wolfess had been plaguing his mind since about a month ago. Sure, they'd only met once, but apparently that was enough. Angel very much wished he could forget her, but some idiotic part of his mind reminded him that he was in fact male, and was, in his opinion, a rather attractive female. Not only that, but these long months of solitude, her being the only break inbetween, it made him lonely. Who else was he about to think about?
This wasn't to say that Angelus did not like the girl. No, quite the contrary. He doubted anyone could dislike her, in fact. So sweet, so caring. She was grateful to him for something so trivial, seemed to enjoy his company despite the fact that he very so wanted her not to. Yes, there you have it. Angel did not want Nibelheim to like him. It may have sounded wrong, but the brute had his reasons. Those reasons being that he was on a liquid diet and burned a little too easy. Not the kind of guy you wanted to bring home to meet your parents.
Without warning, Angelus dropped himself to the water and lay with his head on his paws, narrowed eyes on the dancing dot of sunlight. One minute to go. Even that long thought process hadn't taken enough time. Great. The young brute's ears folded back against his skull, emerald eyes pinned on the ever slowly moving patch of sun. Thirty seconds. Thirty more seconds of soaking in this ridiculous cave with his sundile.

She knew he was here somewhere. She had to see him had to tell him how the battle went how her grandfather was. The tricolored fem moved swiftly her eyes going here and there, she knew night was coming, knew soon monsters would be waking up and finding her as some precious game but she wasn't afraid. Today she brought along a teen aged dragon, her partner in finding healing suplies, Noel, a holly berry feasting dragon. She had been around since she was little but Nibelheim often let the green and magenta dragon do her own thing. Today however they were together. "You have to meet him he's amazing." The wolf fem explained happily tail waving about merrily.
"I heard you the first ten-thousand times." The dragon said a bit exasperated. Noel was a rather plain dragon, flat was her personality and dry humor her thing. Her bright pink eyes went around there was so many different types of plants here in this area compared to where she normally looked.
"We're almost there!" Nibel exclaimed.
"How do you know?" the dragon drauled out in her slightly nazaly toned voice.
"I've seen this tree before and over there... over there is where the dragon attacked me and he saved me!."
Noel rolled her eyes. She had heard the story about twenty times more than how amazing he was and thinking about that she promptly ran into her friend's leg. "We're here!" the slate colored fem wispered excitedly, it was near dark now she just hoped he didn't leave this cave.
Hoping down the bank to the small cave Nibel left Noel on the shore in her own excitement. "Angelus?" She called into the dark abyss of the den hoping he was still there.

The cool pool of water felt good on his searing skin. Smoke raised gently off the brute's coat like steam, only much more pungent in smell. Smoldering flesh made even the weakest noses cringe, just Angelus' luck that he'd have to grow used to it. Emerald eyes were pinned on the dancing dot of sunlight as it reached the edge of the sundial and faded to darkness. As if a gate had been open, the wolf mix sprung from the ground and bolted, finally free to enjoy the night. However, the hauntingly recognizable voice caused him to skid to a halt, sliding on the wet, rocky ground. His body began sliding sideways as he braced his legs, emerald eyes wide.
The black brute finally came to a halt right before Nibelheim, face shocked and heart pounding. "W-what are you doing here?" Angel stuttered, both confused and worried. He hadn't eaten for days, even now his senses were beginning to take over his being. He tried to stop breathing, but that just didn't work. Even a vampire had to breath sometimes. And her scent, it was... intoxicating! The ebbon brute licked his chops unknowingly, pupils forming into slits. He could physically feel his canines growing, poking out from is lips like thin daggers. There was a long moment in which he stared at the fem, a look of longing and hunger on his facet.
Angelus shook his head hard, slamming his eyes shut and taking several quick steps back. Hiding in the shadows, the brute pressed himself against one of the cave walls, emerald eyes glowing in the darkness. "G-get out of here!" He didn't want her to leave. But it was best that she did. She had no idea what kind of monster he could become.

Nibel watched as slowly the light faded. Her bright blue eyes watched the hole he was sure to exit from. The slate, brown and white fem took a few eager steps forward. Any second now.... any second I'll see him again. She thought growing more and more excited. She knew Noel didn't see what was going on with her at least on the inside she was actually quite grateful for that too for if she did the dragon would be more annoyed with her young wolf friend than she already was.
As he finally emerged from his cave Nibelheim's tail waved wildly she was so happy to see he looked well though besides the burnt smell. She felt horrible for his condition but she knew just because he had a bad curse didn't mean he himself was evil or bad... Though it seemed as soon as she thought that she caught the look in his eyes and he shouted at her. She didn't move.
"Some gentleman hero." The holly berry dragon scoffed not seeing the whole situation as it was. "Tell me when you are done or something..." Her nasally voice droned slightly before she spread her magenta and green wings and vanished over the trees.
After her dragon's self dismissal Nibelheim just stared at Angel with her bright sky blue eyes. "No." She said firmly, "I came to see you and I'm not leaving." She wasn't afraid of him she knew what was wrong with him there was nothing to be afraid of. As the hungry look flashed threw his eyes Nibel felt the fur on her back raise slightly. Excitement. She wasn't afraid she was excited. Why she didn't really know herself she could possibly be staring death in the face. "I trust you." She said remembering that she had said it to him a few times the first time that they had met.
