((Delphinium is in play, open to whoever))

The wolf was a rather odd boy, but something about these lands gave him the chills. His pelt, colors, everything suggested he would be more of a water dweller, but the quiet, non-confrontational male, skinny and ribbed with blues of all shades, moved forward with caution...around the lands of a volcanic erruption. The male wondered how the the mountain who blew it's top had been dormant before it had blown it's top...the ash and hard, shiny black stone beneath him felt textured on his paws, violet eyes frowned as he kept himself silent, deep in thought...who had done this? The rock suggested the volcano did not errupt often...or should have errupted at all.

Delphinium was a bank of useless information, the rock he saw suggested the volcano had reached it's maximum heat of 2000 degrees inside, and had a rapid cooling effect when brought out, the flow of the lava...while it made a beautiful pattern, suggested it was stopped suddenly...so odd for such descrepencies...Delphinium was surprised to these facts, it was like the entire thing had been made to errupt by non-natural causes, perhaps that was one of the perks to the magic of these lands? The blue-silver wolf didn't know, but he guessed that he was right...not to mention, the cooled rock was not old, and it was not weak, like some volcanic stones...so, he decided to look for a nice chunk to fashion into something interesting, the thin wolf decided it was time to start leaving his mark.

The wolf first looked for something about three inches wide, when he found that, he would look for a place to heat and shape it, to widdle it into exactly what he wanted...ah, it would be so much easier with a dragon to help him with these kinds of endevours!

Mello was continuing his tour of the Wolf Mountain’s vast territories. The almost full black pelted brute had only returned to Wolf Mountain a few short months ago, he didn’t let anyone know of it either except his dragon partner Arson who was off in other area’s probably hunting. Mello didn’t often travel with his dragon companion, really he liked not standing out and being virtually left alone most the time, but it was time to get moving and time to start making his own name. Mello had purposely left his homelands. The brute was tired of living in his mother’s, Flaming Rose’s, shadow. He was tired of it and that was why he burned his feather necklace and now wandered about the mountain with out it. It helped that he didn’t hardly have any markings at all like her. He was almost fully black, a white splash was on his chest and on his wrists and ankles of each paw. Golden eyes that mirrored his father’s was the final touch, and he wasn’t sorry not to have the emerald green eyes that everyone seemed to know. Mello chose this land to start. It was shortly after the Volcano’s eruption that he had left, of course his mother would have played a role in it’s ending, and of course it just added a larger shadow to stand under. He was done with it all.

The dark brute wandered over the hot lands, lucky for him that his fur was thin because he hadn’t lived in Ice Pack for so long. It was still a bit uncomfortable here, and the average sized male wasn’t sure that heat was his forte. He leaped across a rather large crevice, the lava bubbling up slightly. The brute took another good look around; this time through the haze Mello saw the male looking at something. Slowly Mello started to walk towards the brute, golden eyes trained on him and guard up. What was he doing? Widdling?

“Greetings Stranger.” The brute called standing several yards away from Delphinium. “What brings you out here to such dangerous lands?” He asked gold eyes flashing to the thing he was carving then back to the brute. He was strange male, blue fur and very skinny. Looked like he was a bit of a push over in almost every situation in Mello’s opinion and Mello wasn’t the most muscular brute in the lands but built. He waited, wondering if he would bother to answer.

Delphinium looked up to see dark-colored boy in little surprise, he wasn't a very jumpy individual, and this showed in his placid purple eyes. The brute heard the voice coming from the other, and tilted his head in question, wondering why a stranger was so worried about him...the silver, blue and purple wolf simply shook his head in response at first, before looking back to the large obsidian stone he was playing with. The brute wondered for a moment if he should just get up and leave, he had already exposed himself to someone else on the mountain, he wans't sure he wanted to do that again...not until he had become a bit less weak...

Not that he was really all that weak, appearances were deceiving.

"Dangerous? This mountain isn't going to blow it's top again for a while...or ever again, the rock is set, and quickly at that, or do you mean the lava lakes? Those are easily avoided.."

Said the blue-grey wolf in a wurr of words, looking back to the black brute with a sheepish smile, purple eyes lit up with information, long ears pulled back into a more submissive look, he wasn't going to let on to anymore he was more powerful then a scrawny, thin wolf. And maybe they would believe him. Either way, the wolf wasn't ready to make any enemies yet, although he wondered what this male wanted...

"But yes, greetings to you to, what's your name? You can call me Del"

Delphinium wasn't going to let his name be kicked around just yet, the only one he had told it to was a female he had met, first thing on the mountain, and he doubted she was going to care to repeat it, however, he chose to be more careful now, to work in silence rather then boasting. Delphinium rolled the smoother-looking rock to the black wolf, gesturing to it with his snout, saying-

"This was made from the core of the mountain that errupted, a stone high in calcium, magnesium, and iron, I find it fascinating that it was once the brilliant shade of red, but now, it is the cool tone of obsidian. I'm guessing it is Basaltic, because the mountain deposits seem old, as if this mountain was formed from underground, possibly under an under-water stream"

Violet eyes looked to Mello in question, Del tipped his head in sync with them-

"Did you get all of that?"

Mello locked his golden-brown eyes with Del’s purple gaze. His tail flicked in a very feline manner as the dark furred brute observed the blue tinged brute with mild interest. Interestingly enough Mello didn’t want to kill him first response. It seemed Del was a bit more interesting than the common creature he ran into as he prattled on about the mountain when he probably knew nothing about it’s origins. Mello’s gaze drifted from Delphinium and ran around the lands with a mild look of amusement. He thought he meant the terra? No, not the lands, the creatures that lurked in it was what he meant, dragons were drawn to the heat oftentimes and also evil creatures seemed drawn here. These types of lands often times did that. “You are right, it probably won’t but I’m not talking about that, or the little lava pools. Only those who have no since of balance and finesse would fall prey to them. No, I’m talking about the dragons and other creatures that live here.” Mello said his tone flat and clam as his golden orbs returned to Del who held a sheepish smile on maw. What was it that he was smirking about? Then it vanished. Perhaps Del was one of the very creatures Mello spoke of. Not that it mattered much. Mello was more than capable of handling himself if he wanted to cause trouble.

Mello took in his name without question. How he introduced himself and how he had spoken before seemed, different. He wasn’t sure how it just didn’t seem that the brute wasn’t going to let on more than he wanted Mello to know, “Mello.” He responded to the brute’s question. He had a strange name, but Mello liked it, somehow it fit him and it was the only thing that his mother gave him that he liked.

As the brute started then rambling on about the stone he was carving into Mello looked at the piece then sat down. This brute sure was long winded and a bit thingyy. “Yes, you are making yourself a pretty trinket out of that stone. But I wonder, why not use fire and make it easier?” Mello wondered aloud. He was so smart did he not know what blessings were, how they worked or their uses? Or did he just play dumb about that type of information?

Delphinium watched his new aquintence with a swift eye, catching most of his movements and gestures, the running of the eyes about the land, the amusement, did he amuse him? Del held back a chortle, he wondered how the brute found him funny, he was being completely and totally serious...the violet-eyed brute listened to his cautions about the dragons, mythicals, and Del frowned...did they wander around a lot here? He hadn't realized, although it seemed the obvious conclusion now that Mello had said it, and he nodded in agreement, saying-

"You know, I didn't think of that first thing...I was too busy looking for the right stone...do they wander around normally without their owners?"

Del didn't realize the dragons didn't have to be owned, they could be free, but he was sure to find out soon...eyes locked on the black pelted brute for a moment more, he turned them away to watch some smoke curl from a lava pool not too far from them, he listened carefully then as Mello told him his name, instantly registering it with other words in his brain-

"Mello, or Mellow, a calm or placid state of mind. Or, depending on how you say it, Mallo, or Mallow, the Hibiscus genus consists of 300 flowering plants, maybe more, of the Malvaceae family, Mallow, hibiskos translates to marshmallow...although, you don't really look like a marshmallow to me..."

The information spewed from him in his monotone, violet eyes glancing back to Mello's as another smile lit his face, registereing the golden eyes as he did so...what a pretty color. The blue-tinted brute sat down then, slightly larger-then-average paws on the ground firmly, watching Mello again, studying him. Violet eyes widened a bit when the brute mentioned fire, the wolf hadn't been sure everyone on the mountain could possess such power, so he hid it, but he realized that the idea was rather absurd..everyone had it.

"To be frank I wasn't sure it was normal...I also didn't think of it before you brought it up...everyone is endowed with such abilities?"

Asked Delphinium curiously, a sponge waiting to soak up new information, if anything was clear about him now, it would be that he was an endless storage facility, wanting to know everything there was about everything...he only hoped it wouldn't put Mello off, he wasn't very good at first impressions.

((Quite literally, the presentation I did was on Hibiscus, so yeah, excited to use that info XD))

((Warn you now Nora My Muse is Failing lol))

Mello finally let a semi-amused grin cross over his maw as the brute let his own information enter his mind. He would have chuckled but it was a fairly serious matter that Mello wasn't sure was laughable. However the but figured that what was more laughable was that he didn't think that evil creatures would come to a land where misdeeds created it. He nodded when the brute reaffirmed what he said, so Del didn't know, that was indeed amusing, but it didn't seem to deter the brute to much. This brute was more than he was letting out to be. Mello wasn't sure how yet, but he was. His tail flicked and a thoughtful look passed over his visage at the brutes words. Funny that he thought that dragons were always the bigger threat. Mello was quite certain that he was a bit more aggressive and dangerous than Arson.

"It depends. Sometimes they have no owners, and other times its the owners you need to be afraid of, not the dragons." He said with a toothy grin so that his canines flashed in a menacingly way. It was strange when the brute locked eyes with him. He seemed almost nervous. Mello's tail twitched when Del called him "Mallow" did the black brute sound like he said that? No, the brute just very much liked to hear himself talk was all.

"Mel-lo," The brute pronounced slowly just to emphasize it. For someone who knew a lot he sure did ask quite a few foolish questions. He certainly hoped he didn't look like a marshmallow. He wasn't soft or squishy nor did Mello think he would taste particually good. But to each was their own. He let the brute praddle on a bit more and his tail twitched again, as well as a smile when the conversation of blessings shifted. Now it was Mello's turn to chatter on about something he knew.

"Oh no, there you are quite wrong. Every none mythical creature has the Fire Blessing. Even you I dare say. As soon as you stepped foot into Wolf Mountain's lands you gained that blessing. Though I dare say that it won't help you with this unless you put it on something flammable." He shrugged, "You will need to breath it on the stone, like so." He opened his maw and a tongue of black and white flames exited his maws and onto the stone, after a few seconds the rock glowed cherry red. He cut off the flames feeling no energy loss at all. Mello, like his mother, practiced his blessings constantly. It was good, because of this he could control them longer, and most importantly know their limitations. Indignation was still his favorite. A wonderful blessing that one was.

"Their owners?"

The wolf asked, violet eyes wide with wonder, so perhaps he had miscalculated the residents in these lands, maybe they could overpower the dragons that kept themselves busy there...the multicolored wolf frowned, but didn't worry himself too much over it, he could definently overpower anyone, with the right amount of magic anyway, and he was going to become super powerful...he was determined to do so, but he returned his attention to Mello, who was now pronouncing his name so Del wouldn't forget, the wolf gave another sheepish smile. He hoped he hadn't offended him, but it seemed like that wasn't the case, so he shrugged off the idea.

"Sorry, I have a thing...for flowers you see, I love them, all kinds."

Said the light voice, a slight embarrassed tone residing in it, but that was no matter, it was more a forewarning to what he planned to bring to this mountain, but he didn't go any further, he would end up bringing up his full name otherwise, and he didn't think that to be a wise choice right now, not when he was starting to like this brute, he seemed like a good contrast to his personality...then Mello brought up the facts about blessings, something Delphinium hadn't known, watching in total and utter silence as the boy before him breathed a lick of flame onto the rock before him, heating it and making it easier to work with, the blue-toned brute was in awe.

"Wow. How long did it take you to master that?"

He wanted to know, because the same fire was inside of him, and he wanted to control it better...he was much better with blessings like water, one of his favorites, and Flower Power, the first he had gained...

Mello raised a brow at Del when he questioned what he just said. “Yes Owners, they are the ones who kind of raise the dragons, are their masters or friends, whatever they prefer. I myself actually own a dragon partner named Arson.” The black brute said with a shrug, “They are amazing creatures, dragons… Well mythicals in general.” The wolf mused a loud, his white tipped tail flicking lightly as he did so. Mello’s eyes were locked onto Del gauging what he was thinking and doing just based of the movements on his visage. Mello so far had a rather good impression of Del. He wasn't the common rifraf he normally found, but he was smart and actually knew something about anything. Always a plus, even if he did like to hear himself talk.

The brute smirked at Del’s comment about him liking flowers. Strange thing for a male to like, and if Mello was more simple minded and brutish he probably would have laughed at the brute, but Mello was far from simple minded, or overly butch. At the brute’s next question however Mello felt a grin pull at his maw. “Not long. It’s not about mastering it, you have to get it first. Then it doesn’t take long to refine if you have spare time and a half a brain.” He stated, “You look smart, I think you will catch on quickly once you get a few blessings.” He said his tail flicking about still. “I will keep heating it if you want help shaping that.” He said motioning towards the rock.

The blue-silver wolf raised his brow when the black boy spoke about the owners, and himself having one...Delphinium would have to factor that in, remember to ask his new friend for a chance to meet this Arson...

"Arson, the act of using fire to destory things, on purpose or accident, if the fire was set with the intention to destroy..."

Said the skinny wolf, his purple eyes back on the black one, another slow smile crossing his features as he admired his use of fire, Delphinium hadn't met someone so slow, in the way of his words, and mature, only those with pent up anger and frustration, on his newest voyage here. The younger wolf was glad to at least have one friend, if only one, like Mello, and even more so that he hadn't driven him away with his ridiculous babbling.

"I hope one day to have a mythical...I suspect they are partners of the utmost trust and loyalty..."

He said in a softer voice, contemplating the idea of having a creature like that bonded to you...he would have to research the breeds and types, to get exactly what he wanted; loyal, true, strong, smart. How hard would it be to find? Delphinium was sure they were rare, but he was also sure that if he tried hard, he would be able to find the perfect match..

When Mello commented on using fire, and helping him, Del smiled genuinly, happy he had such a calm, well-learned friend to help him with this endeavor. He nodded, looking back for the stone he was using to shape the rock, and said-

"Yes, that would be amazingly helpful, thankyou, maybe you can teach me a bit as well, about the fire and the mountain, I would like to hear more about your mythical too, if you wouldn't mind?"

He asked, a purple eye looking back to the black fellow as he found the large, grey stone he was using to aid his widdling.
