Water trickled down the cave walls, leftover from the rain that fell the previous night. It collected unevenly on the hard stone floor, flooding the cave and the paws of the wolf that stood within. The black brute stood as if frozen, black body not moving an inch for hours. If truth be told, the wolf didn't even breath, for he had no need to. The Vampire Heart curse had that effect on its host, though it had many more that were less enjoyable. Or maybe it didn't.... not anymore, apparently.

The tall wolf stared up at the cave's ceiling, a spot of yellow sunlight illuminating his face as he stared open mouthed, in disbelief of this moment. The pupils of his shocking emerald were barely open and stung mildly as they used muscles they hadn't for a very long time. Somewhere in the stunned brute's mind, Angelus wondered how this could possibly be. Was he dreaming? Unlikely; he'd never felt the water in his dreams before. So, then, how could he be standing in the sunlight without his skin searing and fur bursting into flames? Cured? No, the tingling of blood lust, though recently quenched, still lingered as did his heightened senses. It was simply inexplainable... And absolutely magnificent.

Closing his eyes against the harsh yellow light, the tall wolf took in a shuttering breath and swallowed hard, throat dry from excitement and disbelief. Angel stood there, black fur soaking in the sun's heat, basking in the sensation. It was like eating for the first time in his life, feeling the warmth of the sun wash over his body. So long of a time he spent in the cold of night he'd forgotten what it felt like to stand in the day.

She had gained and mastered a few new abilities over the harsh winter months in ice. Though they were far from over in her home today in Ice the weather had let up enough that she felt it was safe to fly from the lands and visit a friend of hers. She had to show him her new abilities and the slate grey, brown and white fem was now flying as fast as she could towards his river side den. Finally a chance to see him again! Angelus.

The Ice pack fem had never feared Angelus, even after their close call the last time she had seen him. It was a risk she was willing to take for him. She was almost there now, she could almost already smell him in the air. Gliding down to the ground Nibel stowed her wings and continued to the den on foot and as it came into sight skidded to a halt as she saw Angelus standing out in the sun. Not burning like the first time she had spotted him but standing like he was a normal as her.

Shocked Nibel stared a smile slowly pulling at her maw until it was a wide toothy grin. "Angel!" She called then bounded up to him in a very puppy-ish way and attempted to tackle the much larger brute to the ground. "You are cured!?" She exclaimed looking him over shaking with excitement white fringed tail waving over her back.

Daylight never felt so good in the history of his race, Angelus was sure of it. The tall wolf stood there in silence for God only knew how long, feeling the spot of sunlight that acted as his sundial marked travel slowly down his ebony coat with a tickling sensation that seemed to follow the heat. So entranced was he by the warmth and unbelievable moment that the brute did not notice the footsteps or slippery sound of whet earth as a wolf came to a stop just outside his cave. Breathing in the scent of the sun and becoming slave to it's warm touch, the wolf only realized he had a visitor when the should of his name woke his mind from its trance.

The water rippled over his paws as the fem bounded her way toward him, brilliant emerald eyes snapping open milliseconds after. A guarded mind bared elongated fangs as a body collided with his own and he allowed himself to fall, rolling away quickly and onto his feet in a defensive position. Crouched as he was, fur bristling and beastly fangs bared, Angel was still much taller than the fem, having inherited his father's family genes when it came to size. He may never have met the wolf called Rapier, but his mother was average to small and came from northern lands where her family was more compact. It only led to the obvious conclusion that the long legs, strong build, and towering height came from his illegitimate father.

The wolf's ears lay flat against his head even as he recognized the fem that encroached, though his fur settled down and posture straightened out. The snarl faded to a serious, if not disgruntled, expression, emerald jewels hard. The white patch on his neck remained peaked a bit, showing the wolf's lingering anger. "Nibel!" Angelus shouted, voice enraged. "You know better than to do that! Don't you remember our last?" His phrase died off there, mind recalling with sharp detail just how well their last encounter had gone. he'd nearly fed on her, would have if she hadn't taken to the air, lucky he didn't sport the ability to do so himself. Angelus began to shake slightly, a mixture of anger, frustration, and worry creeping down his spine. He took a few steps toward the back of the cave, glancing at the arch of his sundial on the floor as if it were some invisible boundary between he and the fem.

Her last words hit him like a sudden wave, recalling them clearly despite the heavy trance he'd been under when she'd said them. "No," Angel said, voice a bit dark and defiant as he slowly shook his head. "I don't know what this means, but I am not cured. I am not safe, Nibelheim. Remember that." The brute looked up to the fem, staring into her baby blue with his own stunning emerald eyes in a hard glare. In the light that illuminated the cave, dancing off the water that flooded the floor, they were much more pronounced in color, contrasting brilliantly with his dark fur.

The tri-colored fem treasure the touch and she momentarily had with the black and white brute. Her tail waving Angelus' agitation didn't go on deaf ears, but nor did she she flinch with fear or show any other outward signs of being frightened by his reprimand. Slowly she fulled away smiling sweetly all the while, obviously wasn't concerned with his warning. "I do." She said still smiling, in reply to his comment about what had happened last they met. "But also I remember that you didn't kill or harm me." She wasn't naive, Nibelheim just knew that the brute didn't have a cruel or evil bone in his body and that he didn't trust himself. Despite his curse Nibel knew he was strong, kind, caring and gentle. Her tail waved giving a few stronger beats, it was the truth and as much as he didn't see it, she did. After all he wasn't a monster.

Her ears fell back slightly at the dark tone, but mostly it was the word he said that made the grey, brown and white fem sad. No. A simple phrase, but all the stronger because of the gravity that it held over him. She knew it was to good to be true, but still it was at least good he could go out in daylight now. With a sigh she looked up at him with bright blue eyes and knew he was still normal in even her terms, he just had some special eating requirements.

"No, no! You are safe!" She said slightly sharply, "You just need to trust yourself more! Like I do!" Nibel wanted with all of her heart for Angel to trust himself, know that he could control his hunger. "I learned somethings about Vampire Heart." She paused for a moment looking at both of their white paws. "That is if you want. My grandmother told me a lot of things." She looked back up at Angelus, hoping he wanted to learn about what Flaming Rose had told her.

The place where the fem had grazed him wither her body burned pleasantly, as if someone where holding a candle close to his fur. It wasn't the normal unpleasant searing pain of sunlight he'd grown accustomed to, but a much gentler wash of heat that was more soothing than anything else. However, this wasn't to say that the wolf approved of it. Keeping his distance from the tri-colored fem, Angel stared at her with reproach in his dazzling emerald eyes, warning her with a look not to do it again. As much as he yearned for another's touch, to be able to have a normal, lasting relationship, that was all but impossible due to the cravings he felt. Reduced to a savage when he was hungry, Angel just couldn't let anyone put themselves in danger like that.

"You're lucky you could fly and I can't," Angelus said bluntly, nose twitching as if he were ready to snarl. He was beginning to get really frustrated with Nibelheim's persistence in thinking he was good and safe. She hardly knew a think about him except that he'd saved her from a dragon. He almost wished he could feel sorry he did, but a life was nothing to joke over. He shook his head slowly, wishing she'd just see the clear picture. He was a cursed, bloodthirsty beast, not a normal wolf. "I am not safe," he emphasized in a growl, feeling too much pent up frustration reaching its peak.

The black brute had begun to turn around, want to walk the other way and create a greater buffer space between them, but was stopped in his tracks by her words. "What is your problem!?" Angel shouted, reaching his limits and thoroughly saturating them beyond the containment point. "I'm a monster! A beast!" He'd begun to bristle, the small patch of white between his shoulders razing sharply. "No matter how much you believe otherwise and want it to be different, that's not going to change. I'm dangerous, I'll always be dangerous, and there's nothing you can do about it! No matter what your grandmother says, unless she's got this curse too, I doubt she really has the full picture."

She shrugged slightly that was really besides the point to her just because he was hungry. “Well you can come out more now so now you don’t have to wait all the time like you used to.” Nibel said shortly. The fem could feel it coming off of him. Regret like he didn’t want her here anymore and as the excitement built she felt like leaving too. She didn’t understand why he couldn’t just see he was for the most part like everyone else. She felt herself shake with both anger and sadness. His growling he wasn’t acting like the brute she met at all. Why was he trying to push her away when she knew that he needed her around, he liked her around.

As the space increased she resisted following, probably the first time she had ever done so. At his sudden shouting she shrunk back slightly finally hitting her own break down point and starting to cry. “My problem!?” She yelled back ears against her head but tone defiant, “The only problem I have is you!” She turned around and stalked out into the sunlight turning around at the entrance and shouting back into the cave. “That you won’t even try to live normally! You can you just don’t want to! You are so stuck in this “I’m a monster” deal that you won’t look past it like I have! Or see that even if you are different that I love you any less!”

Shaking and tears flowing like a river down her cheeks she leaped from the den onto the bank of the river and started running as quickly as she could away from him.

Just because he could be out more in the day didn't mean he'd always find food. Angel groaned at the fem's persistence, wishing she'd just get it through her head that he wasn't a good friend to have around. When she rounded on him, the black wolf just stood there, emerald eyes staring back at her with stony brilliance and defiance. However, her words cut to the bone one by one, hearing how everything was his fault, how he was her problem. She was right, it was all his fault. If he'd never approached that sickly looking wolf before, none of this would have happened. She probably could have fought off the Aqua herself anyway, he was just there to cause more conflicts, wasn't he? All this had to happen because he was stupid enough to think that someone might need his help...

Wait a minute...

Angel snapped out of the dark place he'd been spiraling down into in his mind, emerald eyes focusing quickly as the fem began to run from him. Frozen in place, the wolf mentally zipped over what she'd said, playing it like a broken record. She... She loved him? Stunned, the tall black wolf simply stared at her retreating form for a long moment, a dumbfound look on his face. Love? Angelus took an unsure step forward, battling on the inside of whether to chase after her or go back inside. It was probably better off if he just let her go, but he knew better... She'd be back anyway. What was the point in waiting now?

With sudden, fluid motion, the young vampire took off after Nibelheim, catching up quite easily with his surefooted long legs. He cut in front of her and whipped his body around, hoping she wouldn't have time to simply dodge around him. "H-how?" It was all he could manage, voice disbelieving and emerald eyes wide. He couldn't understand it for the life of him. How could anyone love a monster?

Her hysterics slowed her down immensely and it didn’t help that tears covered her eyes making her flee-ing even less effective. Still running she didn’t even stop or noticed that she was passed and the large form of Angelus was before her. Nibel ran into him, given her small size and the speed she was going she barely bounced off the brute sending her backward only a pace and falling into a sit. Sniffing she looked up ready to give an apology to who ever she had run into when she looked up and noticed it was Angelus.

Sitting there she took in the one word he said and the disbelief he had said it in. “H-how?” She said threw her sobs a bit confused for a moment wanting to shove him away since he wanted her to leave so bad but as always she found herself attracted to him and didn’t want to leave. It took her a moment to realize what she had said in her anger in her despair. She admitted it? She did, after playing threw her words she knew for sure. “I told you!” She shot at him roughly still crying. “You are strong, kind and gentle! You are a great man!” She said still sniffing slightly, “It doesn’t matter that your fangs are a bit more long and pointy and you like blood. That doesn’t change your personality. You.” She was still sniffing head hung low as she waited for her to start yelling at her again.

“I mean look… you cared enough to come after me.” She said, “and save me when that dragon came… that isn’t kind and caring?” She asked staring at her paws.
