Character In Play: Anxo

A mostly black brute moved warily over the banks of River Danson. He was nervous, but given what had happened on his last trip out of the Water Pack he had some right to be so. Silver eyes slowly moved over the forest, squinting slightly so as to bring it into sharper focus. Being born blind, it was really a miracle that now he could see now, though fairly near sighted. With the careful use of a sense enhancing blessing he had gained this sight and was loving it. During the time at which he was home and injured, using most his energy up to move, he found that not using it made his vision regress.

The last outing was weighing heavily on his mind as he continued down the bank tail hanging limply at his ankles as he went. It was like a screeching alarm telling him to go back to his little island pack before he got attacked again. It was last time he was out that a ferocious duality dragon attacked him while he was with a fem called Lightning. He was mangled horribly by the dragon and if not for Melek his at the time young adult dragon he knew he would be dead. When he had been brought home in the arms of his dragon broken and injured the wounds and broken ribs were healed but his broken limbs and mind were not. Even now he was still battling the fear he felt with the dragon. The memory. His mother the Alphess ordered him that from now on he had to have a guardian with him, Melek or who ever preceded her had to be at his side. He didn't mind that though, he actually welcomed that with open arms and the thought that the aqua/snow-winged glider was lurking in the deep waters of the river relaxed him slightly.

The dragon lurked under the surface, and Anxo knew she would not reveal herself unless she though he was in danger of being attacked or his silver grey paws carried him away from the river. And with that the male ventured about River Danson, silent and wary.

She trotted slowly, as she slowly trotted, she slowly got hungry. She was about to trail off to a herd of elk when she smelt a familiar scent. She sniffed the ground violently and perk her ears straight. Anxo! She quickened her pace and headed the direction the scent was strongest. Lightning saw the brute ahead as she halted. Her heart skipped a beat in time as she couldn't believe what she saw. Lightning gasped in her breath and managed a word, "Anxo?" Lightning still remembered everything she did when she met him. She had no idea if he wanted to be friends or not, but either way, her life of tracking was over. She noticed she was wagging her tail fast as she ever had.

Anxo heard the paw steps long before the fem had arrived in sight. At first he had started walking more quickly down the river but stopped as the voice reached him and scent touched his sensitive nose. He looked back over his shoulder and was filled with many mixed emotions. Looking around he made sure he wasn't seeing things again when the still ragged looking brute replied. "Lightning." It was a statement, for he recognized the scent and her voice too well to mistake it for any other. After all her voice was part of his black day that horrid memory. His fur still showed the jagged scars over his body from where the dragon had hold of him and the black fur hadn't grown back, leaving the white flesh exposed. He was lucky they were healed so professionally by the Beta of Earth.

The black and grey brute wasn't sure how to act. There was little she could have done to protect him from his fate.... after all wasn't he offering up his body to protect her anyway? He didn't remember well now he was so afraid and he still was. "You are well." He stated again, his voice was still a bit flatter than when they had first met, a lot of his emotion having been broken when the dragon almost killed him. It was... Painful to say the least...

The black and white fey pushed out words, quiet words, "Your.................ok......." Lightning didn't even know if who she was looking for was even alive. She had finally found him. But her luck, it was only a dream. She put one paw forward as in asking to come over closer. She wanted to touch that fur. her first friend's fur. She was over filled with joy,JOY I SAY! Lightning looked at him, not blinking to miss a moment, this would be over soon wouldn't it? Lightning hoped not, she hoped he would stay....forever. The only friend she had ever had was right in front of her again. She never knew how attached one could be. if it wasn't for that brute....she wouldn't have been here here with the one....here.....with Anxo

The brute stared at her with silver eyes. Anxo couldn't quite believe what she had said or really that they had run into one another the first time he had left water since the incident. His grey trimmed ears flattened against his head at her words and eyes narrowed slightly. "Okay?" He almost laughed, "Okay?" he repeated, more loudly than before. "I almost died! I was that horrible dragon's play thing for hours!" He shook slightly in terror just thinking about the Mythical how it tossed him, burned him broke his bones just to hear him scream. Turning around so that his back was too her and his front was facing the river he sat hunched over looking completely defeated as silent tears went out of the silver eyes and down his black cheeks.

Anxo was filled with all kinds of different emotions, he didn't regret saving Lightning but he wondered what he would be like, if this pain would be gone if he had indeed not saved her. It was a horrible thought to be sure, but would she have been as fortunate? Have survived that out come? From what Anxo knew she didn't have a dragon to come and save her from the fangs and claws of the mighty duality dragon. He shuddered, he doubted she would have been that fortunate.... even if she had gotten away with no family that he knew of to treat her she would have most likely died of blood loss. In that way, that thought, he knew he had made the right choice throwing himself at the dragon to save her... but still this cost was a lot.

Unsure what to do he continued to sit silently, tears still running down the sides of his face trickling into the river. There was so many thoughts running threw his mind now... he wasn't sure if he wanted comfort from the fem that was his friend or if he wanted to hurt her like he was hurt. He sighed he could never do that... no matter how much he might have been hurt he wasn't evil enough, cruel enough to do something like that.

Lightning was puzzled by his words, how could this have happened. Lighting gasped out loud as he turned away. All she ever had....as anything....friend or family.... All of it had slapped her in the face and turned their back on her. Lightning shook her head slowly, this wans't happening...no.... Lightning would have gone insane by now, but she was too stunned to move. Though she didn't move, nor make a sound, tears of sorrow rather than joy trickled down her black and white cheeks. Her ears dropped down to her head. Realizing what she thought was selfish of her. How could she be so selfish. She began to remember that dragon. All she did was run....But Anxo worked.... Lightning should have died there...No one would miss her anyway. She wouldn't have to go through that constant sorrow and pain....Anxo could have been untouched....
Lightning should have been the one....
The one to die....

The black and white husky marked brute ran on hushed paws, wild fur whipping around in the self made wind. His ears and yellow eyes were trained forward, black nose twitching as the hybrid followed his target's scent. The wolf mix had an expression of anger mixed with pain on his maw, a half snarl full of glistening white teeth. He made no noise as he traversed the woods in a way that looked all too easy. Polera hadn't been heard from since the day he and Cubia claimed their revenge, not by anyone but the phoenix who had a proposition.

To be honest, the brute wasn't interested in any magics that came with his task. He just needed something to do, his mind rebelling stagnation and the pain that came along with too much time thinking of his losses in life. With a chore ahead of him, the hybrid's mind focused solely on the task at hand, pushing all else to the nether regions of his mind, only to crop up at a pause or in his dreams. Today, however, he could feel the sense of closure on its way, the scent of the wolfess growing more intense with every bound of his stocky white legs. The notion pushed him faster, a blur through the woods.

Polera focused on his breathing, keeping the rhythm deep and slow as he charged forward like a racehorse. His skin burned in that all too familiar way, the way it did as the full moon drew near. The angry red triple slash mark on his right shoulder seemed to sear as if a hot poker were being dragged across the skin, a pain he had grown accustomed to a long time ago. Though it was daylight hours and nearly impossible, the brute could swear he smelled the full moon over the rise, miles and miles away. The beast in his mind whined and snarled, itching to get out and greet its maker once more under the velvet sky. Tonight he would let it out completely, hold no ties over its actions or wants. Tonight he would be primal, instinctive, and dangerous. But first...

Voices pricked at the black and white hybrids ears, his nose filling with the stranger fem's scent completely as he slowed his pace. She was here, talking to somebody, a male who didn't seem to pleased. Good. Hopefully he'd leave the mix to his business. By the time the average sized male came to the clearing, he was walking in a fluid motion, head held low to the ground and white fringed tail trailing behind him at his ankles. The fur along his spine seemed to raise in a ridge, a snarl accenting the wild look of his yellow eyes. Polera glanced to the male quickly, youthful voice hissing a low, commanding, "Leave."

He didn't wait for the wolf to answer, but turned his attention to Lightning, pearly white teeth showing mildly under slightly raised lips. His yellow eyes latched onto her gaze, mind vaguely registering her appearance as he closed the distance to about five feet. Many may have pitied the deed they were about to do given she was a rather pretty fem, but looks had never meant anything to the feral werewolf. When you spent most of your life secluded from the outside world, trivial things lost their meaning.

"You've done bad business," Polera spoke softly, tone rather emotionless. He stood, posture not changing in the least, and waited for her to respond. He'd give her that much at least.

Lightning knew her death was here, she looked at Anxo and simply said, "I will always love you, even if you don't love me." She turned around to Polera. "What is this Bad business I've done?" She said in a preppy voice. "The best thing you could do for me is kill me." She stated. Lightning thought being alive was evil enough. Lightning wanted Polera to kill her, but Lightning would not give Polera the pleasure of watching her run. Lightning wouldn't do it. She didn't close her eyes, backup, whimper, or whine. She stood in front of the mix. "Sladagechi Fladanitaga!" Lightning thought to herself then said it allowed. "Sladagechi Fladanitaga!" She looked back at Anxo, she wanted him to be the last thing she ever saw.

Anxo watched her and grimaced slightly. He wasn't sure what she was thinking, he wasn't sure what he was thinking. The black brute twitched his grey rimmed ears about then a scent caught his nose. Squinting the silver eyes the mostly black brute looked about for the source and to his utter fear, someone was heading right towards them at a full out run, a huge brute. He took a small step back as he watched over Lightening's shoulder foot slipping lightly on the bank but not falling in. He looked back seeing just how close he was to the waters edge and in that water could see Melek, hiding in its depths eyes seeming to glow from under the water.

He turned his attention in full to the brute just in time to catch the one worded command. Anxo felt his legs shake slightly but he didn't move. "W-why?" He shuddered lightly, "W-what do y-you want with Lightening." It was happening again, Melek was right, she was trouble... He did a full body shudder as he took a very unsteady defensive position, eyes flicking to Lightening at her announcement. He didn't know. His mind cast in even more confusion he waited not sure what was going on but sure that the fem before him was in danger.

"Wait Lightening! Why!? Why are you sacrificing yourself!?" He growled then leaped forward. Fine if she wasn't going to save herself then he would! He couldn't just watch her die! He snarled, feral and vicious but it was show. Inside he was writhing with fear but he knew Melek would be close behind. He pounced for Polera almost blindly snapping at any part of the brute he could get a hold of while at the same time an adult Snow-Winged/Aqua dragon burst from the water with a roar, ready to protect her Anxo.

Polera let the girl speak to her lover, waiting for her to make her peace. It was the least he could do given the fate that was about to befall her. But when she asked him of what business he spoke, the hybrid's eerie yellow eyes narrowed in annoyance. Surely she could not have been that much of a pest in her life that she could not remember to what account she owed her life? "Business with the phoenix, Tanato," Polera answered, stepping closer to the fem. When she yelled her nonsense at him, he didn't flinch, but proceeded to moved forward, ignoring the other brute's flustering until he made an attack.

The black and white mix strafed lightly to the side as Anxo made his blind attack, ears folding back against his skull in annoyance. "You'll not fight me today, Boy," Polera spoke through his teeth, tail giving a lash as a wave of energy washed from his body and engulfed Anxo. Nightmare would do its job, and not just for the young male. The brute turned his head slightly as the Aqua-featherwinged dragon burst from the water, letting go of another wave of dreams. He did not wish to cause them harm, and they would see none if they remained asleep. He turned his attention back to Lightning and wasted no more time. With a deft, lightning quick movement, the wolf/husky hybrid snapped in with a flash of teeth, aiming to take a hold on the girl's jugular. He hoped she wouldn't fight him, that would only make matters worse for her.

Lightning tilted her head, after being almost brainwashed she had no idea who this Tanato was. Lightning didn't care, he wouldn't believe her and no one would miss her. Lightning just wished there was a way she could not let him have her skull. Being smaller than him, her natural instincts made her duck under him. She binded up his legs without knowing. Her instincts were taking over. She should at least choose how to die from him. "WAIT!!!!!!!!" She yelled. Lightning had one awkward request. "Can you give my tail to My sister...SnowFlake?" It was the oddest request a wolf could have. She remembered her sister. SF loved tails. Lightning would be mad if her tail didn't go to SF. The black and white fey wondered if she should run for it. She stood there, fear in her mis-matched gaze. "Don't do this to me..." She whimpered. "I know what you did to my uncle." She said softly. How could he resist her voice. "Give me one more day.....one more day....." She pleaded. She would refresh her case with the phoenix, complete it.

Anxo continued his charge when all the sudden his body felt heavy and his legs crumpled and soon after so did his body. He didn't know what had happened, he was charging ready once again to lay his life down for her and here he was, tired, like all energy from his was drained. He thought he heard Melek's roars but they too vanished as the black lids slowly closed over his eyes and then. Nothing. He was running, running as fast as he could away from the duality dragon as it roared and lunged for him. He yelled, no one was there again to help him. Anxo knew he was doomed to die this time, there would be no escape.

Melek as she emerged charged forward. The aqua mix, like her master didn't get much farther than a few bounds. It was lucky she was not in the air, or else the large mythical would have crashed to the ground possibly killing her. Melek felt her limbs grow heavy but she tried to forge on, a silent roar over her mouth as she stood over Anxo and slowly fell over him, creating a dragon hide shield with out crushing him. Keeping the mostly black wolf safe under her stomach as her head crashed to the ground. She was out, mouth still open in the raging roar, icy mist flowing from her nostrils.

The brute felt his teeth catch only on fur as she ducked, but even then it pulled freely from his jaws. He pushed the white fur from his mouth with his tongue, a rumbling sounding from his chest in a menacing manner. The heavy thump of bodies on the ground didn't seem to bother the black and white mix, his eerie yellow eyes staying pinned on the blubbering fem. "I'd hoped you would die with honor," Polera said through clenched teeth, another wave of energy shuffling off his core. Nightmare would at least put her in a heavy enough drowse for him to make his move without her having the strength to dodge this time. Even if she managed to react to the blessing in some way, there would be a lull period where she would be under, however brief that would be. And Polera wouldn't miss this opportunity, already making his move. This time he didn't bother with trying to grab her jugular, but instead went for the spot on her spine where her neck met her shoulder blades. It would be easy to break the cords here, to kill her with a simple twist of his body. With his size compared to hers, it would be easy for him to overwhelm her. She could not duck from an attack that came straight from above, especially not when he stepped over her small frame with one of his large paws with the same speed at which he made his attack. He was standing over her, jaws aimed for that weak spot on the spine as his magic did it's work to slow her brain into a sleep.

[Alue told me to go ahead with the killing]

The brute's strike was sure this time, the young fem unable to escape the hybrid's jaws as they came down on her spine. Polera clamped down tightly, giving a quick, powerful heave of his body. A loud snap sounded, the sound of the fem's spine giving way. The black and white husky marked brute held her limp body for a long moment before setting it down slowly. Her request would be seen to, the sister she mentioned would get Lightning's tail. The wolf hybrid placed a large white paw over the snowy fem's body, holding it down as he took the base of her tail between his teeth. He chewed on the flesh for a moment, loosening it from the bone before tugging wildly. The tail gave way after a few moments, though in not a very pretty fashion. A bit of the spine had come along with the tail, bleeding freely and looking quite gruesome. However, as bright green energy tentacles snaked from the brute's body and wove themselves around the detached appendage, the bleeding stopped and a small layer of skin formed around the protruding bone. It still wasn't the most pleasant sight, but far prettier than before.

Polera then moved over to Lightning's head, looking at it sideways for a moment. He was beginning to grow rather tired, so it was best if he be off soon. There were several sickening pops, the black and white hybrid's body began to elongate and grow. Paws became clear digits, clawed dangerously at the end. A beast stood in Polera's place, lips wrinkled back to show unnaturally large teeth as the monster stood awkwardly on all fours. He leaned back to his hind feet, crouching over the dead fem as he took her small head in his humanly claws. He placed one large foot on the corpse before pulling, ripping the skull clean off the spine. It would need some stripping and cleaning before he presented it to the phoenix, but all in good time.

The beast took up the detached tail and head in either hand, grasping them awkwardly with his claws that were neither human nor canine. Four black bat wings unfurled from nowhere on his body, spreading out in a twelve foot range before giving some strong beats. Within seconds, the creature had taken to the skies, gone to do more deeds.
