Mostly red pup trotted in the rain that fell heavily over Traydon River. Tail waving over her back she looked around with hazel eyes that for the most part remained slate blue. Currently the pup was sniffing about for anything she could possibly eat, scavenging so far has been doing her some good but she was still thin and her ribs were showing lightly on her sides. This didn’t seem to diminish her energy though. Sol picked up her pace to a run, spotting a squirrel digging up its stash for a noon snack. Shooting up the nearby tree the fem started after it halfway running up after it as far as she could then slid back down barking and howling at the tree. She knew she wouldn’t catch it, fun was the goal and as she sprinted around the tree in the continuing down poor of rain.

Soaked to the bone she fell over in the mud then started pawing at the stash the squirrel was digging up. She grabbed a walnut hidden there and chewed on it, wondering how on earth something so small could break it as it rolled around her mouth. Growling at it she bit at it more but to no avail. Well she couldn’t eat that she guessed. Filling in the hole again so that she was now fully covered mud she started jogging away still panting lightly and looking up to the sky. Her parents still haven’t come to look for her, she didn’t let it bother her much, they could barely provide for themselves let alone for her either, it was actually probably a relief she was gone.

The tricolored pup continued forward on her white legs not really going anywhere now, just letting her nose lead the way.

Rain... It was so peaceful, especially this time of year. The zinc hued brute jogged lightly through the lightly wooded area, icy blue eyes ahead of him on the trail. The rain was a good relief from the recent heat, a heat that had the fields in Kuna golden brown and dry. There had already been one brush fire this summer, but with a pack of skilled wolves, that hadn't amounted to much of a problem. But they wouldn't have to worry about it happening anytime soon, not with the current downpour soaking their grounds and relieving the burnt grasses. It was the turning point of the season anyway. Storms would be coming more frequently as the summer lengthened, relieving the threat of combustion alltogether.

The large wolf froze, earing the sound of unearthing paws a short distance away. Whatever the source was, it was small. Perhaps a badger? Or a wolverine? Zebbidiah inhaled deeply, but the scent was masked by the downpour. The zinc wolf's stomach gave a quite growl, and he couldn't deny the fact. He was hungry; it was time to hunt. Well, this small creature was a start. The brute lowered himself close to the ground, continuing his pace on hushed paws toward the digging animal.

As he approached, the should stopped. Footsteps splashed in the mud away from him, forcing the wolf to quicken his pace in persuite. Icy blue eyes narrowed through the gray misted foliage, color draining as a brilliant red filtered in from the pupil. There was no denying that Zeb was the son of Taboo, Alpha of Kuna, not when his talents incorporated the family 'gift'. He slowed as he neared his target, catching a glimpse of red through the rain and brush. A fox? Zebbidiah darted out from his hiding, covering the ground in what seemed like no time at all.

He came upon the small animal, teeth bared and fur bristling, only to have his eye widened at last second as he realized what the small creature was. He threw on the breaks as quickly as he could, dodging to the side in a panicked roll to avoid crashing into the young fem. He landed his roll on his feet, front paws and rear end still skidding until he finally came to a halt somewhat in front of the pup, body low to the ground and eyes locked on to her stormy blue-gray hazled eyes. He blinked, standing up quickly as his fur settled and eyes faded back to blue in the blink of an eye. He was a muddy mess, fur caked with the earth he'd dragged along with him in his attempt to miss the poor little fem.

"Well," the brute said after a moment, a smile flickering across his face quickly before vanishing. Zebbidiah tilted his head, looking the skinny little fem over quickly. "What do we have here?" His tone was odd for someone from his pack, calm and gentle even as he towered over her. It was easy to feel oversized in front of such a small creature as a pup, especially when you were already several inches taller than the average wolf. Nowhere near his father's size, Zebbidiah still had a good head over the average male without question.

She continued her little light puppy trot tail still sticking straight up in the air as she continued to scrounge for food. Nothing, and the rain wasn’t helping her much. She sighed then heard something behind her threw the mists. Instead of cowering and hiding she turned to face it head on. Death was never something to be afraid of, but to invite. If any lesson she was happy to learn it was that. Do not fear Death and if this was death knocking on her door so be it. She didn’t know how, but since she had been alone it seemed her senses where growing and growing. Well not enough to help her with her food.

As something came barreling towards her growling and fangs bared much larger than her, the little pup snarled back, her little sharp teeth bared and her eyes narrowed, watching the glowing crimson ones near her. Her eyes bright with wild nature and ferocity, she wouldn’t run from this, but it appeared she didn’t have to. The large grey thing seemed to stumble and fall around her, rolling neatly but the crimson eyes still bore into her mind. She jumped aaway from what she now noticed to be a very large wolf brute, but her hackles were still raised as he stood again to face her.

Her hazel eyes watched him, locked onto his fading crimson eyes, it wasn’t until they were icy blue again and that he relaxed that she too settled slightly though stayed a few paces away. Sol didn’t reply quickly, his kind tone definitely a flip from the vicious side she had just seen. “A pup?” She offered lightly, not sure if he was really looking for an answer. Still wary Sol looked around, if her parents could turn up now would be a good time. No she didn’t need them… she was fine. Just fine…

The fangs and the bristling wasn't something Zebbidiah would have expected from a pup outside of his own family. Fear didn't seem to have a hold on her, nor, for some reason, did surprise or panic. Well, she was interesting. That was for sure. The zinc brute's head tilted at her response, a small bit of a smile flickering across his muzzle before vanishing completely. Icy blue eyes swept over the little fem quickly, amusement in their cores. "I can see that, little girl," Zeb replied, rear dropping to the wet earth and tail wrapping around his paws. Even in such a pose, he was as ridged as a statue, carriage tall and cut like stone. "Let me rephrase myself."

"I'm Zebbidiah," the wolf introduced himself with no gesture, remaining as still as a metal statue. His dark silver fur shone with the water that slicked it to his body, accenting his thick muscles with the faint light that bounced off the zinc hues. "What can I call you, my filthy little friend?" He felt like laughing, finding the whole situation amusing and a bit funny, but his upbringing prevented the action from actually taking place. There hadn't been much to laugh about in his youth, not with the war and not with the state of his family at the time. The feeling of humor was scantily practiced, though it was definitely felt from time to time. He was just never sure how to express himself.
