((Character in Play: Strife||Closed Post))

The pup had wandered fairly far away from his father's pack, yeah, his father's. Kuna Pack wasn't a cage, but his father was a stifling figure. Something apparently had been planned to happen dealing with pups before and well he was a bit over protective. He was child still, well perhaps almost a preteen now. He was different though, he was promised to a girl of Fire Pack, but it was strange she was pretty and all but Strife just wasn't interested in her in the slightest. Normally one would think that a handsome boy like himself would love a chance to be betrothed to an equally attractive female. Strife he was apathetic. Perhaps it was his age, it had been what his father had said to him when Strife said he just didn't care. Perhaps if he had more though he wouldn't have to be with this Anise. Whatever. Not like it mattered. His older brother Kuna would take the pack eventually anyway, Strife was there to make ties. Probably more than Kuna would do. Who knew? Maybe Strife would overthrow his brother Kuna and Anise would be at his side. Kuna, he would have no one not at this rate anyway. He was a year older and didn't even have a girlfriend, let alone a future mate for himself.

Still he wasn't happy, even the slight self satisfactory feeling of besting his older brother and heir Kuna wasn't enough to please him. The golden and white brute shook out his fluffy fur, icy eyes looking over the strange lands that seemed rather plain to him. No one was here, it was so quiet and he liked that. Surely he would be fine. He moved forward in the grass his large white fluffy tail waving lightly behind him, picked up so it wouldn't drag across the grass and stain it. Call him vain, but Strife did not like being dirty in the slightest unless it was during fighting. Just having grass stains in his tail and white fur was lame. Having it dingy yellow too from dirt also really bothered him. No pristine white, the boy would not have anything less.

His tail bobbed lightly behind him he found himself a small rock to perch himself on and quickly climbing up it and settling himself at the top. His fluffy white tail wrapped around his paws and he simply looked around, wondering what it would be like if Kuna was not heir of Kuna pack but he Strife was. A boys dream was to follow in his father's paw steps. Perhaps not all, but when your father ruled and was a powerful Alpha, what other dream could you have but to follow in his steps?

(( Character in play: Seik ))

The cream-colored boy had managed to slip away from his family's icy homelands and had taken to wandering the lands. From what he could tell, he was a good bit away from Frostlin; he'd probably hear it from his parents upon his return, his overbearing, blind mother especially, though doubtless his father would have a few choice words for him. The truth was, though, the pup couldn't be around his wounded sister without a crushing, unbearable guilt rising up, a guilt that threatened to choke him with its intensity. Being as young as he was, Seik had never felt that kind of emotion before, but every time he saw Olaerris, crippled, possibly forever, by the fall she had taken... the pale pup couldn't take it. Between Olaerris's limited range of motion and Leovan's timid nature due to his own blindness, Seik had little company on his ventures out, which were becoming more and more frequent of late. He was growing, his limbs and muscles getting longer and leaner, and he daily felt the need to stretch, company or no.

Loneliness, it seemed, had won out over obedience today - loneliness and the choking guilt he knew when he saw his sister. Sure, Olaerris hadn't ever been particularly sweet to him, but the slender male pup would never have wished such a thing on her. His thick fur ruffled in the breeze as he padded further in the grassy area, and despite the soft winds the boy found himself experiencing something new: heat. It never got hot in Frostlin, the lands were nearly always frozen, though it was a little further south than the everwinter lands of Ice Pack to the north. But heat - being hot - was something the cream-coated, brindle-spotted boy had never really experienced. Instinctively, his tongue lolled from his mouth, flushed and pink and smiling, relieving some of the heat. This was great! He'd have to tell Leo and Ola all about it...

The thought of his siblings, alone together in the den and likely hating it, had the boy wincing from a sudden pang of regret, but another new encounter caught his pale, lavender gaze and he forced the guilt and sadness away as the gold and white figure of Strife came into view. The other pup, for surely he was a pup, was probably not much older than he was, though certainly a bit bigger; Seik had taken after his mother's slender figure rather than his father's larger one, anyway, so he would likely be smaller than most wolves on average. Still, this did little to deter him. He'd not encountered another pup before, nor anyone, really, besides his siblings, his parents, and the few residents of Frostlin. With a steeling breath, the boy trotted forward toward Strife on his rock, a surely spotted figure considering he was making no effort to hide himself. "Hey," he called up to the other, smiling and wagging his thick-plumed tail.

Strife hadn’t expected anyone to be here, let alone approach him in this quite area. He was still thinking of his home, of his betrothal to Anise, but what would he do? His father had said he would not force him to be with her if he found another girl. The teen didn’t really look for other girl, he just wasn’t interested in them. He couldn’t explain it, he knew Anise was pretty, he had saw her, she was cute, with her strange ears and her bit more bold feeling, yet he felt nothing, but it wasn’t like he didn’t like her either. She wasn’t repulsive she just wasn’t right. He couldn’t explain it, his father said he was just young and he would appreciate females, but also it seemed as though others his age started liking girls. Stupid girls, what were they good for anyway? He huffed slightly at that thought thinking ‘nothing’ before he heard the rustle of grass. How did someone sneak up on him!? Him! Son of Taboo trained to be most attentive and first to strike when danger came! Stupid girls! See that’s all they did distract him with all the thoughts and confusion and feelings! Ugh!

He whipped around when the puppy voice greeted him, his white mane flying about as his icy gaze met with the boy’s lavender. Something strange jolted in him, like something fluttering in his stomach. Was he sick? He was nervous, scared even, had this other boy put a curse on him. He felt, tongue tied, nervous and he could feel his face burn and thankfully fur covered what would be a fully red face as he looked at the mostly white boy. He was simply marked, he noticed, black on his brows and lower lip, ear tips. It was just simple but that didn’t mean he wasn’t any less… Attractive? What? He was a boy! He wasn’t attractive!

Realizing he had been staring during all these thoughts Strife shook his mind up, he was derailed for too long, “Hey there.” He finally managed a bit meekly, sure the other boy did not feel the same way he did, all mixed up and, man did he need to start hating boys now too? This was dumb, he never thought like that when he saw Boden, but then again that was his brother. The other young boy was wagging his tail and Strife couldn’t help but let his extra long fluffy tail wag around slightly as well. What did his father always tell him about meeting new creatures? Why hadn’t he paid attention?

Introductions? Was that it? “My name is Strife. Er, who are you?” He still sounded a bit, nervous and flustered, why was he making such a fool of himself? His father, what would he think of him being such an idiot? He had no way of knowing that this boy was from a gang. Strife had only learned of the packs and heard of gangs, and the things he had learned about gangs was nothing good.

Seik hadn't meant to sneak up on the other boy, and his rust-colored hackles rose slightly as Strife's icy blue gaze met his own, first with some slight aggression, and then... well. The pup couldn't place that look, and he tilted his head slightly, smiling a charming, if puppish smile at the golden and white son of Kuna pack. "Sorry for, uh, startling you," he said softly, lowering his brindle-patched rump to the earth in a sit, still smiling at the larger male pup. He noticed the way the brute's golden fur glinted in the sunlight, his handsome, if confused features, the way his eyes added a sharpness and a dimension to him that Seik couldn't help but being jealous of, for he could never have that warrior's steel to his gaze. The particular markings, so dark a navy that they seemed indeed black, actually helped make the pup somewhat more emotive than others his age, and so his slight embarrassment at this stare-down showed through pretty clearly.

He was tempted to speak again. Why was this other pup so uncomfortable? Was he so different, he wondered, with his thick fur, his small build? Or, he thought with horror, did this other boy know his crime? Did he know his failing, that he had let his sister fall from that great height, watched as the hard permafrost shattered her bones, rendered her unable to walk and romp anymore? Overcome with fear that this was indeed the case, Seik stood nervously, as if a spring coiled in his haunches had just been released.

But Strife spoke now, greeting him, and even for all his nervousness the other pup was wagging his long, fluffy tail. Seik's eyes immediately gravitated toward the long appendage, a smile gracing his muzzle now; it was so much longer than usual, more silky and fluffy than he could ever hope to have! His own was fairly short, though it fit with the rest of his compact, slender figure. He watched as the other boy greeted him, his smile fading slightly; if this Strife knew his crime, knew what he'd done to his sister, he was certainly hiding it well.

"Strife," he repeated, liking the way the other male's name sounded. It was a hard word, and a little sad, and while it worked well as a name there was a bitter taste to it that Seik couldn't explain away. And why was he so flustered, he wondered idly, tilting his head at the other with that faint and lovely smile still. "I'm Seik, son of Cerindell, heir to Frostlin by the Ice Mountains," he explained, giving his full title with a measured degree of boredness that explained his lack of interest there. In fact, he seemed slightly ashamed - not of his father's name, or his lands', but because by admitting it he knew he would admit his guilt as well. No use hiding it - word had surely spread, or so Seik had figured in his puppy mind. Perhaps if he owned up to it now, he could be respected.
